Organized in collaboration with L’Alliance New York and Iconofly, this exhibition, first presented in Gstaad in 2026, offered a renewed perspective on the work of Robert Joseph Markell and explored the profound and enduring influence of Henri Matisse on Markell’s artistic language. Through line, rhythm, and gesture, Markell reinterprets Matisse’s legacy with both reverence and freedom, transforming it into a deeply personal visual vocabulary.
